Boogers for Breakfast

Larsson takes after his dad in the morning. He wakes up happy and ready to go. I, on the other hand, need a little prodding and quiet time to wake up and get moving.

Many mornings, Larsson comes to my side of the bed and says, "C'mon mommy." Then he hands me my glasses and grabs my hand.

One morning last week, he climbed into bed with us around 5 a.m. and went back to sleep. I actually woke up before him on this particular day and watched him start to rouse from sleep.

Around 7 a.m., he smiled. Then he opened his eyes. Looked over at me. And said, "My eat boogers." And laughed.

I cracked up. (Despite being a little grossed out.)

The Lion's Den

It's become a tradition that we invite our nieces and nephew to stay with us for a weekend and we treat them to fun things in Atlanta for their birthday celebration. Last weekend, Cousin Brandon came up to visit.

Larsson was in seventh heaven with Cou'in Bwran'on here. We got up early and went to the zoo - saw the 'mingos, the el'phants, gowillas, lions and more.

Then Uncle Jutz and Brandon went in search of Brandon's favorite chocolate at Ikea, hit the race track at Malibu, and we all ended the day at Village Pizza.

We had a great time. We hope Brandon did too!

Tree Down

We have a playground in our front yard, and it connects to the playground in our neighbor's yard. In the middle are some trees and bushes. The neighbors leave a leash line tied around the biggest tree for their dog to join in the fun from time to time.

The other day, Larsson saw the leash line (with no dog)and instructed Justin to connect the end of the leash to the back of his Jeep. Then he proceeded to sit in the Jeep, hit the gas, and look back at the tree expectantly.

Justin and I watched. Interested but not quite sure what to make of it.

Fast forward a couple days and we got the answer. Larsson started saying, "PawPaw tree down." We called MawMaw and PawPaw and got the full story.

While Larsson had been visiting MawMaw and PawPaw, PawPaw had pulled down a tree with his tractor. Larsson had been very impressed.

So much so he found a way to try it himself.

Nine Years

Nine years ago, we walked down the aisle and said our "I do's." We committed our futures to each other. For better or worse. Not knowing what to expect, but that we would live through our years together. With each each. For each other.

And here we are. Nine years later. Plus one addition. Healthy and happy. Absolutely blessed.

Happy Anniversary, honey!

Happy Birthday, Sage!

This past Sunday, we partied in Macon to celebrate upcoming birthdays of Baby Sage and Cousin Livi.

BBQ. Strawberry cake. Slip 'n' slide. outdoor fun. A great day with aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins.

Larsson dreamt about playing with cousins that night, and the first thing he said when he woke up was, "I want to hold Baby Sage."

Today, he sends over a big birthday hug to Baby Sage. And so do Aunt Becka and Uncle Jutz. Happy 1st Birthday, Sage!
