supersonic

This week I have taken to calling Larsson "p". As in peanut, sweet pea, etc.

At 4 this morning when "P" woke us up, Justin (who btw calls Larsson by some strange nicknames like "man taco") said, "who is this "P" person, Mama?"

To which I replied, "My peanut, pumpkin, sweet pea.".

And Justin added, "The "P" is for perfection."

As we all tried to go back to sleep, all I could think about was rewriting the lyrics to "SuperSonic" using "Larsson Michael".

Happy 1st birthday, Tater!

Dear Larsson,

I can't believe it has been a whole year! A year since you came into our lives. A year since we became parents. A year since we became a family of three. A year of learning and growing and changing.

You just amaze us everyday. Your smile. Your sense of adventure. Your lack of fear - which frankly also terrifies me.

Here are a few things we have learned about you so far:
- You have your own way. While most babies sit, crawl, stand, you did that in reverse and practically all within a week.

- You watch and learn. You pick up any item you think is a phone and put it up to your ear and walk around the house talking. Who are you talking to, by the way?

- You grow up way too fast. Last Saturday, you walked around with the phone in one hand and a Starbucks cup(empty) in the other.

- You wake up every day ready to start the day. You pop your little head up, look around, smile and giggle and take off. We know you don't get this from your mama.

Our monkey. Our wild man. Our pea. Our nugget. Our tater.

We can't believe how fast you are growing up and love watching you evolve into a little boy. Our little boy. We love you!

Happy 1st birthday!

Total weight loss: 2.2 lbs.
Weight left to lose: 17.8 lbs.

Cougar Bait

On Sunday, we met up with friends to say Happy Belated 2nd Birthday to Finn! Watching Finn, Larsson and Austin was so much fun and they are so stinkin' cute - just small intervals apart at 2 years, almost 1 year and 7.5 months. I pulled out my camera but the battery was dead.

We snagged one photo on a camera phone when we went to grab a quick lunch at Verde Taqueria with Alice, Ervin and Austin. Alice posted it first and she did such a good job, I thought I would reuse her blog post title.

And Alice, I agree. I don't think they could be any cuter!

Wednesday Weigh-In (Week 2)

Week 2 aka I need to get my butt in gear.

Starting Weight: xxx
Week 2: xxx-0.4
Weight lost this week: 0.0 lbs.
Total weight loss: 0.4 lbs.
Weight left to lose: 19.6 lbs.
Weeks left to new goal date: 9.5

I don't know what my problem is.... although last week's excuses range from out-of-town guests to snow to Valentine's, which all had me thinking I was on vacation. No more excuses. I have always done great with accomplishing goals, so I need to soul search why I am getting in my own way. I want to make my goal, so I am buckling down this week. And I made it to my track club run this week, so that was a good start....

Monday Musings

- We enjoyed a short but great time with some family from Sweden last week - my uncle and aunt, Ove (mom's youngest brother) and Maria, and cousins, Oscar, Linnea and Hugo. They stopped in Atlanta to visit us on their way to Vail for some skiing. Little did we expect was the snow in Georgia! pictures to follow soon...

- Larsson was a little sniffly when we picked him up from daycare on Friday just before the snow came, and we spent most of the weekend fighting a fever.

- Even though, they told everyone to stay off the roads on Friday night, Justin and I were convinced that we would have no issue getting home to sleep in our own bed. We let Larsson sleep over at Mormor and Morfar's instead of waking him. We left around 11 p.m. and did not get home until almost 1 a.m. It was not too bad, but where it was icy, there were long lines of slow moving traffic. In retrospect, we would have stayed.

- Because of the weather and travelling back and forth, we missed Finn's birthday party. We were so looking forward to it and hope to see him soon!

- We celebrated Valentine's Day together at home, although auntie babysat Saturday night so Justin and I went to a nearby restaurant Valenza for a late dinner after Larsson was tucked into bed.

- I kept Larsson home today, hoping to overcome the cold and that an ear infection does not follow. We enjoyed a long nap and played with tupperware and toys most of the day. He usually does not slow down very much even when he is not feeling well.

Wednesday Weigh-In (Week 1)

So I wasn't at home this morning to officially weigh in on my scale so I will have to go with yesterday's weight.

Starting Weight: xxx
Week 1: xxx-0.4
Weight lost this week: 0.4 lbs.
Total weight loss: 0.4 lbs.
Weight left to lose: 19.6 lbs.
Weeks left to new goal date: 10.5

If I am going to make the goal, I need to make a few adjustments. Unfortunately, I did not get all my exercise in this past week due to unforeseen work issues and some other projects. I will put in some extra sessions this week to make up for it and also watch my eating this week a little more closely.

Wednesday Weigh In (A New Start)

I am joining Alice's weight loss challenge to post progress weekly.

My goal was to lose the remainder of my baby weight gain by Larsson's first birthday on February 25. Sadly, I believe I am going to be shy of my goal, as despite consistently working out since July, I have been holding steady in my weight since September. However, I am going to use this challenge and weekly posting as a way to keep myself more accountable and up my game.

My revised goal is to lose 20 pounds prior to our family photo session on April 25th.

Starting Weight: xxx
Weight left to lose: 20 lbs.
Weeks left to new goal date: 11.5
Days Exercised: 4 (pilates | 2 runs | 1 bodypump class | 1 weights session)

What I am most excited about: I joined the Atlanta Track Club and have done 3 weekly runs with them. I was really thrilled that I was able to run more than I thought... and it is getting easier. did I mention we are running a 5K race in March that we are training for? I am thinking of entering the 10K on July 4 and maybe a half marathon on Thanksgiving Day... but not to get too far ahead of myself...

Workout Plan for the week:
- Thursday: bodypump or bodyflow, 30 min walk or run
- Friday: bodypump or bodyflow, 30 min walk or run
- Saturday: pilates
- Sunday: bodypump &/or 30 min run
- Monday:
- Tuesday: bodypump, run with track club

Goal for next week: Increase water intake, plan meals and grocery list for the week, plan "cheat" day

Tuesday Tidbits

- The highlight of my day is often picking up Larsson from school. He is so excited to see me to and rushes over to embrace me. Is there anything better?

- Yesterday when I walked into his classroom, I did not see him at first. He was in his favorite spot. He loves to take all the toys out of the cubbies and crawl in and out of them.

- I get way behind in downloading my photos... and now it seems as though Larsson got his hands on my camera causing a lens error. May be time to buy Mommy a new camera. :)

- Larsson is walking a lot (or most of the time it seems like he is running) and very independent. He gets into EVERYTHING.

- We are counting down the days until some of our family from Sweden comes into town. We hope there will be nice weather for their visit. Can't wait to see you - Ove, Maria, Oskar, Linnea and Hugo! One week and counting!

Hide & Seek

This past weekend, MawMaw and PawPaw invited Larsson to spend the night with them. So as I started thinking about what Justin and I were going to do, it dawned on me that Valentine's Day is approaching and wouldn't it be nice to surprise my sweetie with an early Valentine's weekend!

So, I picked up Larsson from school Thursday afternoon and we stopped at Target to grab some treats for Justin. Coincidentally, we arrived home at the same time as Justin, so I grabbed our bags and quickly headed inside. In a hurry, I set everything down and then hid our Valentine's bag in an ottoman in the living room.

After Justin changed clothes, he and Larsson began playing in the living room while I was in the kitchen. Then I heard a laugh and "Thanks for the M&M's buddy." Larsson had gone straight to the living room, removed the lid from the ottoman, and pulled out the bag of M&M's for Justin.

I put everything back in the ottoman and warned Justin not to ruin his surprise. As Justin laughed and started walking out of the living room, Larsson went back to the ottoman, removed the lid again, dug his hand into the Target bag, pulled out the Valentine's card, lifted it above his head and went running after Justin saying, "DaDaDaDaDa."
