1st Soccer Practice

A cold, windy morning - in the 30s.

We got out to the fields, found the Titans, got Larsson's jersey, and practiced kicking the ball around while waiting for the team to organize.

After about 10 minutes, Larsson picked up the ball and started walking away from the field.

When asked where he was going, he replied, "I'm going to warm up in the car."

#11 did not last long.

But he did look awfully cute in his jersey.

Maybe this Saturday, he will stay for the actual practice and game.

We'll ease into it. :)

Go Titans

I received an email this week.

"Dear Titan parents"

Larsson is now a Titan!

Saturday is his first soccer practice and game.

I may die over the adorableness of it all.

I stand corrected

I was talking on speaker phone to my parents after picking Larsson up from school yesterday.

In the middle of my convo, I told them Larsson was eating M and M's.

Then I returned to the discussion about his class and said, "they're toddlers."

When Larsson burst out, "mommy, they not toddlers. Them M and M's."

With a big grin on his chocolate covered face.

Little Sprinkler

The hubs suggested this blog post.

We have been working with Larsson on potty training for, well, awhile. two steps forward, two steps back... But we are pretty much there.

The issues seem to come when Larsson does not want to be bothered to step away from playing to go to the bano.

So, we come up with different suggestions when we see the "signs"....

And do things like rush into a room with the mini potty.

Or suggest that he just pee outside.

Which was slightly mortifying to me.

Because Larsson was obliged. He stopped right there in front of our house. Our friends. And our neighbors. And watered the plants. Just like a little sprinkler.

DaDa was very proud.

Not Funny

Lately, when Larsson gets mad at Justin and me (read: when he doesn't get his way), he scrunches up his face into a serious scowl, and then says, "That not funny, Momma-Dadda. That Not Funny."

Oh Larsson. But it is. It's hysterical in fact.

I have to muffle my giggles.

A Toddler's Point of View

When I picked Larsson up from school the other day, he was so happy to see me.

As usual, he ran up to me. We hugged, and I told him I was so happy to see him. Then I asked about his day.

As he started to respond, he leaned back and looked at me comtemplatively.

Then he said, "Mommy, there are holes in your earrings."

I thought for a moment about the hoop earrings I was wearing and responded, "You're right, my friend. I love the way you see things."
