We were so excited about our first family vacation - bringing the boys for their first trip to the beach and their very first Panama City experience. We thought it would be the perfect outing - a long weekend, long time friends, not-too-far from home, one teenager and two babies.
And it was. We had a wonderful time. Alice wrote a really cute blog post about the 'Babies Gone Wild' - bottles, cruisin, sleepin and beachin.
But the good times ended with a trip to the ER.
On our last night after photos on the beach and a delicious dinner, Tater kept Deddy and me up all night. By 7 a.m. that morning, we realized he had a high fever and that we could not make the six hour drive home without seeking medical help. With it being a holiday, our best option was the hosptial emergency room (ER). So we checked in at the local hospital, and they poked and prodded Larsson and determined that he had an ear infection.

They gave him an IV of fluids and antibiotics, which helped get his temperature down. We were very worried about him, and were very appreciative of the kind care they provided at the Gulf Coast Medical Center.

Larsson slept most of the way home, which made for an easier drive. And when we got home, he was willing to pose for a pic and even flashed his heart-melting smile.

Fortunately now, he has made a full recovery. And hopefully, we won't be making too many more trips to the ER.... ever.
Poor Larsson :( I hope he is all recovered and he doesn't put you through that again!!
ReplyDeleteAaaw, cute guy. Glad Larsson is ok now! And so much fun with a road trip!
ReplyDeleteThat was scary when it happened. But seriously - he seemed so fine one minute and really sick the next. Funny how fast that can happen. Glad Tater is back to his normal adorable self!!
