I have been confused about what day it is... ALL WEEK.
But I make no mistake about it being Friday today. Yay!
It's been a crazy week.
- Jason, my brother-in-law, stayed with us a couple nights, as he was in town taking the Georgia State Bar exam. Larsson had so much fun playing with him. It was as if the rest of us were invisible.
- My dad and I took Larsson to the ENT, and the verdict is tubes in his ears. We scheduled the surgery for mid-August. Hopefully, this will solve the ear infection issue once and for all.
- Larsson's teacher called me over yesterday when I was picking him up from school. Her tone made me nervous, sounding as if I had done something wrong. I hadn't. Larsson had. He pushed one of the little girls, and the teacher had to notify me and the little girl's parents. I picked Larsson up and told him that was not nice and we apologized to the little girl.
- My cousin, Jonatan, and his girlfriend, Karro, are arriving tonight to stay with us for a week. I can't wait for them to meet Larsson and to hit the town for some touristy stuff.
So that about sums up the highlights. Now to work. And to clean. And squeeze in time for a little hair makeover. Is there anything more relaxing than getting your hair did?

Color of the Week: Red
Picture from Larsson's school folder:

Along with a report that said:
Today we learned our colors. Our color of the week is red. We also tried to color the whole picture and stay in the lines without eating our crayons. :)

Fine: $10
As a teenager, my not-so-enthusiastic response to my parent's requests was usually a long drawn out, "f-iiiiiiii-n-e."
To which my dad would reply, "Fine: $10."
As if he were a judge determining punishment.
With all those years of practice at home, he was a shoe-in to play a judge in Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime. And I suppose the white hair didn't hurt.

It was fun to watch him on television. He looked very distinguished, don't you think?
After the show, I had to ask if he said "Fine: $10" when he was sitting at the bench.
He said he thought about it. But resisted the urge.

A little confused about potty training

Disclaimer: We don't normally let our cutie patootie climb in and play in a toilet. BUT it's new. never been used. no water in it. Just sitting in our bedroom.
We are getting a mini makeover with new fixtures and flooring in our bathroom. Adios to seafoam green toilets and sink tops... forever. Yay!

We Love Vacuums
Have I mentioned that Larsson is obsessed with phones, hair dryers, and vacuums?
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. These are all things I use and love.
Someone I follow on Twitter, A Mom's Impression, who posts and blogs about being a first time mom as well is giving away an Oreck vacuum. I would love to win it, but would be just as happy if one of my friends or family was the lucky owner of a new, fancy schmancy Oreck vacuum.

Rough and Tumble

Larsson waves Welcome Home!
I'm back. Returned at nearly midnight on Thursday. Couldn't wait to see Mr. Smoochie... who was of course was sleeping soundly.
Justin did it. He managed to keep the house standing. Get Tater to daycare daily. And work through his stressful deadline week on top of it all. Yay for DaDa! We knew he could do it. Of course, he was smart enough to line up some help on the front end. Thanks to Rachel, Mormor and MawMaw!
Larsson had a pretty good week. He glad to play with some of his favorite ladies. Had fun at school. Although one of his toddler classmates thought he might be as tasty as I think he is.... and took a bite out of his shoulder when Larsson wouldn't give him a toy. There was an "Incident Report" on the couch when I got home. Justin said the bite didn't really break the skin and Larsson was fine. He didn't even really flinch or cry when it happened.
I took Larsson to the doctor on Friday for his check-up. I saw the bite. And a huge bruise that had resulted from the bite. Combined with all the mosquito bites on Larsson's legs that he has been scratching, I wondered what the doctor's office had to be thinking...
What they did find is that Larsson is in:
- the 92 percentile for head size
- 37th for weight, and
- 58th for height.
At first, the nurse reported 92nd for height. And I asked her three times if that was right. She insisted it was. I wondered how Larsson would have gotten such height with parents who don't exactly scream TALL. So, the real results made much more sense. Still, what's up with all these babies with tiny heads?
Anyhow, Tater has another ear infection, so we have been referred to the ENT for further evaluation of whether he needs tubes in his ears and whether his hearing is being affected by the continuous ear issues. Wish us luck! Did I mention that Larsson started crying the second he realized we were in the doctor's office? Despite being rough and tumble, this is one place he would rather not be. With all the poking and prodding I am sure they will do, it should be an experience.
